Judith Baker has been involved with carousel art and history for the past twelve years. Initially, she worked as a Museum educator promoting the art and history of the carousel to children and adults. Prior to assuming the positions of Head of Restoration and Master Painter for the New England Carousel Museum, she apprenticed with a leading carousel restoration house, where she learned the painting techniques that bring the wonderful animals to life.
Maintaining with the New England Carousel Museum she accepted the positions of Restoration Manager and Master Painter. In this capacity, she is responsible for overseeing the restoration process, start to finish, while painting many of the pieces. Judith is also responsible for the care and maintenance of the Museum's collection as well as taking an active part in the production and judging of the Carousel Art Contest for Children sponsored by the Museum.
