& Faux Finishes
by
Waldemar Karwowski
|
Waldemar Karwowski has been specializing in decorative painting and historical
restoration since 1980. Originally from Europe, Waldemar has worked
all over the world. He immigrated to the United States with his family
in 1987 and he has been working here in decorating, restoration and replication
of historically significant structures. He is always aiming to give
his clients the greatest of satisfaction in his work by constantly enriching
his talent. He recently studied and graduated from the "ipedec" Institute
of Paris, France.
An exhibition of work by Waldemar Karwowski, entitled The Art of Decorative
Painting and Faux Finishes, is on display in the Bristol Center for
Arts and Culture located here at the New England Carousel Museum.
Celebrated for his stunning restoration work in Saint Stanislaus Church
in New Haven, CT, Saint Michael's Byzantine Catholic Church in Terryville,
CT and most notably, Saint Patrick's Cathedral in New York City, Waldemar
was chosen to exhibit his work because of its extraordinary craftsmanship
and creativity. In addition to his fine art work, Waldemar specializes
in decorative painting and faux finishes. Waldemar has
elevated decorative painting to a new height. His panels display
the marble textures of Yellow Sienna and Gray Breccia or the smoothly sanded
feel of Pitch Pine, Mahogany and Palisander woods to the eye, yet are painted
canvases to the touch.
The exhibit will run through September 1, 2002. The Bristol Center
for Arts is located here at the New England Carousel Museum. Spring
and Summer Hours are Monday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.,
and Sunday noon - 5:00 p.m. Admission is $5.00; $4.50 for seniors;
$2.50 for children ages 4 - 14; and free for children under 4 years of
