The Carousel Museum and The Museum of Fire History offer hands-on internship opportunities designed to provide meaningful, real-world experience in a dynamic museum environment. Our internships combine practical training, professional mentorship, and active participation in daily museum operations. As an institution that preserves historic carousel art, fire service history, and large-scale artifacts, we provide interns with a unique opportunity to work with collections, exhibitions, educational programming, public events, and operational infrastructure. Interns gain direct exposure to both behind-the-scenes museum work and visitor-facing responsibilities. Our program supports students and emerging professionals from various academic and technical backgrounds, including arts and humanities, education, nonprofit management, marketing, construction, engineering, and skilled trades. Interns are encouraged to take initiative, develop professional skills, and contribute meaningfully to the museum’s mission and community engagement. The museum is pleased to provide documentation and verification of completed internship hours to support academic credit requirements when applicable.
